Antique shops in Takaoka

Takaoka's industrial development was planned by the Kaga Clan about 400 years ago. In those days, Takaoka was a center for trade with the Asian continent and had a big consumer industry.
Therefore, a lot of antiques remain in the area.

Take a street car

Street cars remain in only 19 cities in Japan. Running through Takaoka, the smallest of the 19, is the Manyo line.
It might be one of the smallest cities in the world with a street car.
How about taking a change of pace by riding the street car? It's only a 3 minute walk to Sakashita-machi from our inn.

Visit Japanese cake shops

In order to help develop Takaoka's industries, Toshinaga Maeda, the 2nd lord of the kaga Clan was called a master of Japanese cakes as well as many other things.
Since then, we have been keeping up the tradition, and even now there are a lot of japanese cake shops in Takaoka.
